Abstract
IMPRISONMENT AND THE CONCOMITANT SEXUAL DEPRIVATION OF INMATES ARE LINKED TO THE PRIOR NONPRISON EXPERIENCE OF THE PRISONER, BOTH SEXUAL AND NONSEXUAL, METHODS OF INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT. THE INTERACTION OF THESE ELEMENTS FOR THE INMATE'S FUTURE FUNCTIONING IS DISCUSSED.
