Seeing-Is-Believing is a drug education program consisting of a printed Teacher's Information Guide and a one hour VHS Closed Captioned Videotape.
Abstract
The teacher's information guide can be a source of information to assist students, teachers, and other adults to understand, and hopefully help solve the problem of drug use/abuse. The guide includes a teacher's lesson plan with eight detailed objectives, a list of drug vocabulary with definitions, street name equivalents of drugs, the present USA Legal Code of Scheduled Drugs, signs and symptoms of drug abuse, alcoholic drink chart guide, and selected references and sources for additional information. The videotape demonstrates the changes in behavior that occur when a subject is under the influence of drugs like uppers, downers, and hallucinogens. Drug information presentations are made by a pharmacologist, the Director of The Ohio Crime Prevention Association, a police officer who was assigned to the Narcotics Division, a forensic toxicologist, two recovering alcoholic/drug users, and a sixth grade student.
