This book, targeted at security professionals, argues that to be successful, security managers must not only be competent in terms of security matters, but must be able to demonstrate business acumen.
Abstract
Rather than selling security as a necessary evil, security professionals must be willing to embrace a new approach in which the security of people and property is seen as an organizational asset and one directly related to company profits. The step-by-step approach to security management described here involves setting the stage, establishing the business case, developing a successful market plan, implementing quality assurance procedures, developing strategies to meet the current market, and outsourcing. 60 notes, 47 references, and 2 appendixes
