To test security sensor reliability, Sandia National Laboratories expose many types of sensors to various environmental conditions, using computer-aided design tools to set up perimeter security configurations.
Abstract
At a video testing site, Sandia evaluates camera towers, lighting, video motion detectors, charge-coupled device closed-circuit television cameras, video recorders, and devices used in access control. Sandia has created a light fixture that emits only very near infrared radiation for nighttime surveillance, a security robot, and a video touch screen that enables security officers to touch the appropriate part of a video floor plan on a computer screen.
