In 1981, Hong Kong experienced a 3.7 percent decrease in violent crime and a 4.4 percent decrease in juvenile criminal prosecutions since the previous year. Increasing use of firearms and firearm imitations in robberies continues to be a disturbing factor in the crime scene.
Abstract
The report outlines crime trends and operations and support services of the Hong Kong police, as well as its personnel and training practices and management and inspection services. Administration and force organization are also covered. Illustrations are provided. The appendixes contain tabular data and charts on police strength and deployment, honors and awards, reported crimes, persons prosecuted, and traffic accidents and prosecutions.
