Abstract
Following an explanation of retail security, specific chapters discuss handling shoplifter problems, how to improve detective case production, dishonest employees, spotting high-risk employees, and honesty shopping. Undercover agents, case analysis, establishing employee discipline, fraudulent checks, and burglary are additional topics. Investigations, interrogation techniques, psychology of the retail criminal, the pros and cons of complete prosecution, and steps to take after a guilty verdict also are covered. Additional sections explore the concept of prevention, fidelity insurance, security education, inventory shortage problems, control systems and procedures, systems study, receiving, and the security vulnerability study.
