Abstract
Section I describes the grantmaking process and depicts how funds flow from the Federal Government to recipients. Section II catalogs formula, discretionary, demonstration, and competitive Federal drug-related program grants, as well as key nongrant funding programs; brief descriptions are provided for each program. The profiled grants and programs are under the sponsorship of the following agencies and organizations: the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Treasury, the Corporation for National Service, and the Ounce of Prevention Council. Section III provides information on other Federal and private foundation resources. These are the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program, the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, and private-sector foundations. One appendix outlines current information on Federal formula grant funding as well as housing authority funding by State. Another appendix lists program coordinators of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Program. A third appendix provides appropriate State contacts by function for the drug-related grant programs.
