This report presents a compilation of papers produced in two United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) International Training Courses held in 2004 on offender treatment and economic crime prevention.
Abstract
This report, offered as a resource to the international community contains papers presented at the UNAFEI 127th International Training Course on "Implementing Effective Measures for the Treatment of Offenders after Fifty Years of United Nations Standard Setting in Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice" consist of both expert and participant papers, reflecting the countries of Norway, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Korea, and Thailand in the areas of probation, prison, alternatives to imprisonment, and effective treatment programs. Papers presented at the UNAFEI 128th International Training Course on "Measures to Combat Economic Crime, Including Money Laundering" consist of both expert and participant papers, reflecting the countries and regions of the European Union, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ghana, India, Nepal, and Zimbabwe in the areas of international cooperation, effective countermeasures, white collar crime, and the measurement of economic crime.
