Abstract

Technical assistance often results from formal agreements between the United States and other nations or international organizations. The increasing demand for United States expertise has led certain agencies to develop country-specific criteria for responding to international requests, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse has established program priorities for consultants. Many United States agencies also arrange specific training in United States institutions.
