Discussing the recruitment of foreign nationals, this article examines recruitment practices of the German police force.
Abstract
The recruitment of foreign nationals into the German police force is the focus of this article. Arguing that Europe is growing increasingly multicultural, resulting in the need to transform the German police department, the author maintains that the transformation of both the German police department and German society at large, by first and second-generation immigration is a significant issue in modern Germany. Contending that German police officers are finding it increasingly difficult to govern in certain sectors of Germany, the author claims that the Lander has been prompted to recruit foreign nationals into the German police force for the first time in Germany’s history.
