The article describes the impact of criminal investigation strategy on crime control policy.
Abstract
The author studied the relationship between criminal investigation strategy and Slovenia’s crime policy. Information on the types of criminal investigation strategies are presented. For the purposes of the article criminal investigation strategy is defined as a new study technique that consists of planning and execution of various measures of criminal investigation, crime prevention, crime control, principles of efficiency, applicable political frameworks, and applicable legal parameters. The author identifies the goal of criminal investigation strategy studies as developing information as to how the basic directions of crime policy can be successfully implemented and therefore terms criminal investigation strategy as subordinate to overall crime policy. The author points out that further development of criminal investigation strategy may provide crucial direction to crime policy. 1 Table, 18 notes, 43 references
