ADVANTAGES OF APPOINTING PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICERS TO EXPLAIN THE WORK OF THE JUDICIARY IN TERMS COMPREHENSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC AND THE PRESS.
Abstract
THE FUNCTION OF A PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER IS ONE OF INFORMATION AND INTERPRETATION. SUCH AN OFFICER, ATTACHED TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE IN THE COURT, COULD MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM OF FAIR TRIAL AND FREE PRESS THROUGH CONTACTS WITH NEWSMEN. HE COULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ISSUING PRESS CREDENTIALS AND FOR SUPERVISING THE INSTALLMENT OF MEDIA EQUIPMENT IN THE COURTROOM. THE INFORMATION OFFICER CAN ALSO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL TASK OF CONVEYING PUBLIC FEELINGS TO COURT SYSTEM PERSONNEL.
