This report contains proposals and contributions from governments for the United Nations General Assembly Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of a Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
Abstract
The proposals and contributions relate to a draft "Protocol Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Their Parts and Components and Ammunition," supplementing the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Crime. Amendments refer to (among other things) terminology, definitions, purpose and scope of specific articles, requirements and obligations set forth in the draft protocol, exchange of information and cooperation among parties to the protocol, and the relationship of the draft protocol with the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime. The following countries submitted proposals and contributions: Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Italy, Japan, Malawi and Swaziland, Mexico, Norway, Syrian Arab Republic, United Kingdom, and United States.
