Abstract
New developments in security include a design matrix tool that is both cost- and time-efficient, engineering services that consider threat and vulnerability assessments to businesses and fuel storage facilities, a fiber optic security network for monitoring and control, and major improvements in outdoor perimeter security systems and security systems management. In the area of computerized databases, the discussion reviews the variable range adder for fast storage and retrieval; terrorist activities for threat assessment; access control and personal identification systems, vehicle location and monitoring systems; and mug photobase management systems. Finally, in the field of data communications, transborder data security, mobile telephone networks, fiber optic systems, voice security, and a video scrambler system are discussed.
