Abstract
THEIR PERCEPTIONS OF THOSE STRESSORS WHICH AFFECT LINE PERSONNEL MOST ADVERSELY ARE ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS, ROLE CONFLICT, DOUBLE STANDARDS FOR POLICE AND SOCIETY, COURT LENIENCY, AND POLICE PEER GROUP PRESSURE. THE STRESSORS AFFECTING ADMINISTRATORS ADVERSELY WERE IDENTIFIED AS IMPOSING DISCIPLINE, INTRADEPARTMENTAL COMMUNICATION, CONFLICTING DEMANDS FROM PUBLIC AND PERSONNEL, CONCERN THAT LINE OFFICERS' PERFORMANCE/CONDUCT WILL BE DETRIMENTAL TO DEPARTMENT, AND SOCIETAL PRESSURE TO CHANGE LAW ENFORCEMENT POLICIES....PLO
