Abstract
LITERATURE REFERENCES DERIVE FROM BIBLIOGRAPHICAL PERIODICALS, I.E., 'EXCERPTA CRIMINOLOGICA' (1961 TO 1968), 'ABSTRACTS ON CRIMINOLOGY AND PENOLOGY' (1969 TO 1978), AND 'EXCERPTA MEDICA' (1955 TO 1978), AND FROM AN ANALYTICAL CARD INDEX OF THESES AND RESEARCH REPORTS IN A NUMBER OF FRENCH, SWISS, BELGIAN, AND CANADIAN LIBRARIES. THE BIBLIOGRAPHY IS DESIGNED TO FACILITATE RESEARCH FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF MODERN 'PREVENTION' DEFINITIONS. SUBJECT AREAS ARE BROKEN DOWN INTO GENERAL ASPECTS OF PREVENTION, JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION, CRIME PREVENTION, PREVENTION OF MALADJUSTMENT IN YOUNG PEOPLE, MENTAL HEALTH AS A MEANS OF PREVENTION, AND DRUG ADDICTION PREVENTION. FURTHER TOPIC AREAS ARE PREVENTION THROUGH RELIGION, THE ROLE OF PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGY IN PREVENTION, LEGAL ASPECTS OF PREVENTION, YOUTH PROTECTION, STERILIZATION FOR CRIME PREVENTION, POLICE PREVENTIVE MEASURES, THE FUNCTION OF THE SCHOOL IN CRIME PREVENTION, PREVENTION THROUGH THE FAMILY, AND PREVENTIVE LEISURE ACTIVITIES.
