Abstract

The acronym for the North Dakota PDMP is ND PDMP. It is administered by the North Dakota Board of Pharmacy. The email address is provided, along with the URLs for the main website and related websites for enrollment, query, data upload, and statistics. Contact information is provided for the Executive Director and the Program Administrator. For 2020, the state population was 779,702, and there were 4,968 DEA-registered prescribers and 196 DEA-registered dispensers. A total 28 types of reports available from the PDMP are listed. Funding for the PDMP comes from licensing fees. The amount of the 2021 budget is not reported. One full-time employee performs operational responsibilities. Key dates for the establishment and development of the PDMP are provided, and access information is presented for statutes and rules pertinent to the establishment and operation of the PDMP. A total of 17 miscellaneous capabilities and policies of the PDMP are listed. Under the data retention policy, prescriber and dispenser information and patient information are purged every 3 years, with an option to retain de-identified data. Training in PDMP features and uses is available for prescribers, dispensers, law enforcement personnel, the Regulatory Board, the Attorney General, patients, and researchers; however, training is not required before using PDMP. Information required for PDMP accounts is provided in this report. Law enforcement access to PDMP data requires a related active investigation. Information required for a query is outlined. For veterinary prescriptions, a separate patient account/profile is developed. Data are monitored for drugs listed in Schedules II-V, medical marijuana dispensing, and pharmaceutical manufacturers/distributors sales. Technological capabilities and PDMP authorized reports and their recipients are indicated.
