A PROJECT TO DETERMINE THE LEGAL NEEDS, TO DEVELOP SYSTEMS OF LEGAL SERVICES FOR PRISONERS AND TO MEASURE ATTITUDE CHANGES ONCE SERVICES ARE DELIVERED.
Abstract
THE SUMMARY REPORT REVIEWS THE NEED FOR PRISON LEGAL SERVICES AND THE RESPONSE OF THE LAW SCHOOLS TO THIS NEED. IT DESCRIBES INMATE ATTITUDES TOWARD THE LAW AS FUNCTIONS OF SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS. ONCE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO PRISONERS, THE REPORT CONCLUDES, THEIR REACTIONS TO THE LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT AND ATTITUDES TOWARD THE LAW CHANGE. THE STUDY SURVEYS THE RESPONSE OF CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL AS WELL AS THE LAW SCHOOLS TO LEGAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY LAW STUDENTS.
