The evaluation recommends three possible organizational options for the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics: retain the current system, institute administrative changes, or reorganize.
Abstract
Under the first alternative, there would be no change in costs. The second alternative would cost $155,500 more each year because of the increased State share of retirement benefits to provide early retirement for Bureau agents. The third alternative would cost $199,700 more the first year because of retirement benefits and additions to patrol buildings but would save $200,300 in succeeding years if 13 Bureau civilian positions are eliminated.
