NCJ Number

272 pages
Annotation
Following a brief description of general deterrence concepts, an annotated bibliography of published works on deterrence is presented.
Abstract
The works cited are considered experimental, statistical, or theoretical and are classified according to these and other topics, such as the death penalty, white-collar crime, and car theft. Depending on the size and nature of the work, the annotations have tried to briefly summarize the methods used, the population concerned, and the hypotheses and conclusions reached. They also include, when applicable, references to other works relevant to the topic. Over 200 works are cited, and an index of topic headings is appended.
