Oregon's juvenile justice consortium has clearly shown that its success and strength come from pooling available resources and sharing with others.
Abstract
When the juvenile departments in 17 counties of east and central Oregon were faced with limited or no support to care for youths from juvenile courts, they decided to help each other. Juvenile departments in certain counties developed service centers to receive referrals from other counties and developed education programs for juveniles. Important to the success of such an effort are participation by all persons involved, long-term thinking and planning, and consideration for the interests and needs of all member groups.
