THIS STUDY EVALUATED THE NEEDS TO ESTABLISH, EQUIP, STAFF AND OPERATE A STATEWIDE POLICE ACADEMY.
Abstract
IN JUNE 1967 BOARD OF POLICE STANDARDS SURVEYED THE NUMBER OF POLICE AND OTHER OFFICERS IN OREGON NEEDING SUPERVISORY TRAINING, MIDDLE MANAGEMENT TRAINING, EXECUTIVE AND COMMAND COURSES, AND OTHER TYPES OF CLASSES. ESTIMATED RECOMMENDATIONS INDICATE THE NUMBER OF SCHOOLS REQUIRED ANNUALLY AND TRAINING TIME USED. PLANS ARE PRESENTED FOR STAFFING, FACILITIES, SPACE GROUND AREA, RECREATION, UTILITIES, AND THE COST OF EACH. A FUNDING PLAN, A SUMMARY AND LIST OF CONCLUSIONS ON THE NEED, MAINTENANCE, AND INSTRUCTION METHODS ARE GIVEN.
