THIS TRAINING MANUAL, PRODUCED BY THE OREGON CORRECTIONS DIVISION FOR USE IN SECURITY TRAINING, COVERS CONTRABAND AND SEARCHES AS WELL AS SECURITY PROCEDURES TO BE USED IN TRANSPORTING PRISONERS.
Abstract
THESE TOPICS ARE COVERED IN DAYS 11 AND 12 OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM. THE MORNING OF DAY 11 (CONTRABAND AND SEARCHES TRAINING), INCLUDES A PRETEST, DEFINITION OF CONTRABAND, CONTRABAND CONTROL, FRISKS, STRIP SEARCHES, AREA SEARCHES, AND TYPES OF CONTRABAND. THE AFTERNOON TRAINING SESSION INCLUDES A FILMED DEMONSTRATION OF FRISKS AND SEARCHES, LIVE DEMONSTRATION OF FRISKS AND SEARCHES, HANDS-ON TRAINING, EVALUATION, AND POSTTEST. THE MORNING OF DAY 12 (SECURITY PROCEDURES DURING TRANSPORT) INCLUDES A PRETEST, TRANSPORTATION OF PRISONERS, MODES OF TRAVEL, LODGING DURING TRAVEL, MEALS DURING TRAVEL, ILLNESS DURING TRAVEL, AND ESCAPES DURING TRAVEL. THE AFTERNOON SESSION INCLUDES APPLICATION OF RESTRAINTS, TYPES OF RESTRAINTS, DEMONSTRATION OF RESTRAINTS, HANDS-ON TRAINING, EVALUATION, AND POSTTEST.
