This report describes and cites statistics on the activities of the Oregon Board's Standards and Certification Section, Research and Management Services Section, Oregon Police Academy, and the Specialized and Regional Training Section.
Abstract
Police, corrections, and parole and probation officers along with polygraph examiners must be certified. Standards and Certification staff continued their involvement in career counseling, job placement assistance, and other services. The Research Section provides administrative counseling to local police agencies, conducts limited surveys, and prepares an annual personnel and budget study of State police agencies. The Police Academy has been faced by cutbacks in staff and programs. Police, corrections, and parole and probation officers attend regional training courses. Statistical tables are appended.
