This annual report for 1978 presents important data and relevant statistics about the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Abstract
The report notes that the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center and the Clara Waters Community Treatment Center became operational in 1978. Intake at Lexington has greatly improved the classification program throughout the correctional system, while opening of the Clara Waters Center has increased work release opportunities for women incarcerated in Oklahoma. Charts delineate the organization of the entire department, the board of corrections, and administration. Accomplishments of the divisions of technical services, community services, and institutions are highlighted and special projects are described. Funding and expenditures for fiscal year 1978 are summarized in a table, which is followed by other tables denoting important statistics relating to the department.
