This report describes more than 70 programs funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to advance juvenile justice and provides the most recent data regarding children in custody and State compliance with the mandates of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act.
Abstract
The agencies four program goals for fiscal year 1990 were to prevent and control juvenile drug abuse, prevent and control serious juvenile crime, help States comply with the mandates of formula grants, and enhance prevention and intervention efforts for missing and exploited children. Its five organizational units provided training and technical assistance, monitored compliance, funded promising initiatives, conducted research and program development, and disseminated information on juvenile delinquency and missing children.
