This report on the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs' (OJP's) strategic plan for fiscal years 2016 - 2018 outlines the challenges, objectives, strategies, and anticipated outcomes for each of four goals.
Abstract
The report first states OJP's vision ("safe, just and engaged communities"); values ("equal justice, fairness and transparency, community engagement, strong science, and effective stewardship"); and mission ("to provide leadership, resources, and solutions for creating safe, just, and engaged communities"). The four goals for the next few years are then presented. One goal is to "prevent and reduce crime through a comprehensive approach." A second goal is to "engage and empower those in at-risk environments." A third goal is to "advance systemic improvement in the justice system." The fourth goal is to "deliver effective and outcome-driven services, capabilities, and programs." For each of these goals, the report lists the challenges, objectives, strategies for implementation, and anticipated outcomes from achieving the goal.
