Abstract
PART ONE DEALS WITH PROBATION ADMINISTRATION AND COVERS SUCH TOPICS AS ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT, STATISTICS, PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AND EDUCATION. PART TWO, PROBATION SERVICES, INCLUDES CHAPTERS ON SUPERVISION OF PROBATIONERS, CASE RECORDS, RELEASE ON OWN RECOGNIZANCE PROGRAMS, AND SPECIAL SERVICES. THE FORMAT OF EACH CHAPTER INCLUDES AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SUBJECT MATTER, STATEMENT OF THE GOAL, RATIONALE, SUMMARY LISTING OF THE STANDARDS, AND A FINAL SECTION, WHEREIN EACH STANDARD IS RESTATED FOLLOWED BY A BRIEF DISCUSSION OF ITS MEANING AND IMPORTANCE.
