Abstract
The Counterdrug Technology Assessment Center (CTAC) established within the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) is the central counterdrug technology research and development organization in the United States. Since its inception, CTAC has been overseeing and coordinating the counterdrug R&D programs of the Federal drug control agencies. It sponsors a counterdrug technology R&D program to advance the technological capabilities of Federal drug control agencies and a TTP to enhance the capabilities of state and local law enforcement agencies for counterdrug missions. This report provides a summary of the year’s contributions and future plans. Appendices A through F provide information on legislation, counterdrug scientific and technological needs; drug-related research and development projects; an Annual Report on the Development and Deployment of Narcotics Detection Technologies; a summary of the TTPs; and acknowledgements.
