Abstract
This guidebook is for women who are returning home from prison and jail. The words are those of women who have been right where these women are now. Women explain the reality of their lives and the self-awareness they have gained. These voices are intended to help women returning home to think, observe, and make choices. The intent is that the sharing of their experiences and guidance will encourage women to stay strong to cope with the challenges of reclaiming their life. The book is divided into several sections focusing on various areas impacting a female offenders return to the community, such as parole, relationships, female offenders and their children, lesbians and transgender individuals, believing in one’s self, coping, and reentry resources.
