Mobile FM Transceivers - NIJ Standard-0210.00

NCJ Number

Date Published

Length

Annotation
This document establishes performance requirements and test methods for nontrunked, frequency modulated (FM) mobile transceivers which either do not have special subsystems such as selective signaling or voice privacy, or in which such subsystems are bypassed or disabled during testing for compliance with this standard.
Abstract
This standard supersedes NILECJ-STD-0202.00 and NILECJ-STD-0207.00. This report specifies minimum requirements for equipment user information to be provided by the manufacturer or distributor, performance at environmental extremes, receiver performance, and transmitter performance. Minimum performance at environmental extremes pertains to the stabilities of temperature, humidity, vibration, and shock. Minimum requirements for receiver performance encompass SINAD sensitivity and the characteristics of selectivity, squelch, and audio. Transmitter performance minimum requirements address the characteristics of radio frequency, audio modulation, and electromagnetic compatibility. The description of equipment testing methods focuses on standard test conditions, the test equipment, transceiver environmental tests, receiver tests, and transmitter tests. Where appropriate, test methods are distinguished according to transceiver operating frequencies. Figures, 2 references, and 17-item bibliography.
