The process of consultation in the treatment of prisoners or detainees in correctional institutions is reviewed.
Abstract
Consultation is defined and indications for consultation within the correctional environment are outlined. The process is described from an emergent and routine viewpoint, with six problem areas identified and discussed. Specific solutions are then recommended by problem area, with examples given.
