This compendium provides researchers and prevention specialists with tools to assess violence-related beliefs, behaviors, and influences, as well as to evaluate programs intended to prevent youth violence.
Abstract
The introduction presents information on why outcome evaluations are so important followed by guidance on how to conduct such evaluations. This is followed by the four main sections of the compendium. Each section focuses on a category of assessments. The categories are attitude and belief assessment, psychosocial and cognitive assessments, behavior assessments, and environmental assessments. Each section has the same format, which presents a description of measures, scales and assessments, and references. A description of measures summarizes key information about each of the assessment tools included in the section. Scales and assessments pertain to the items that compose each assessment, along with response categories and some guidance on scoring and analysis. The references for each section include citations for published and unpublished materials that pertain to original developments and any recent adaptations, modifications, or validations. Index
