DESCRIPTION OF THE SECOND PHASE PROJECT EFFORTS IN PRINTING, PROMOTING, AND DISTRIBUTING A PAMPHLET WHICH EXPLAINS THE OBJECTIVES, THE PROBLEMS, AND THE NEED FOR SUPPORT OF CORRECTIONS AND COMMUNITY REHABILITATION.
Abstract
THE CREATION OF THE PAMPHLET, ENTITLED 'MARSHALING CITIZEN POWER TO MODERNIZE CORRECTIONS,' WAS A JOINT UNDERTAKING BY THE UNITED STATES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE AMERICAN CORRECTIONAL ASSOCIATION. INITIALLY, ONE MILLION COPIES OF THE PAMPHLET WERE PRINTED AND DISTRIBUTED TO VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS. THROUGHT A LEAA GRANT, THE SECOND PHASE PROVIDED FOR AN ADDITIONAL PRINTING OF ONE MILLION COPIES. DISTRIBUTION OF THE BOOKLET DURING PHASE TWO INVOLVED THE CULTIVATION OF NEW PROSPECTS THROUGH PROMOTION AND THE REORDERING OF PAMPHLETS BY RECIPIENTS FROM PHASE ONE. THIS REPORT DISCUSSES SUCH TOPICS AS THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION, THE PROJECT STAFF, PRINTING AND STORAGE, EQUIPMENT, PAMPHLET PROMOTION, ASSOCIATION PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT, AND BUDGET CHANGES. THE APPENDICES INCLUDE PROMOTIONAL LETTERS SENT OUT, REQUESTS FOR PAMPHLETS, ARTICLES AND COMMENTS ON THE PAMPHLET, AND STATISTICS ON PAMPHLET DISTRIBUTION.
