This report reviews the activities and accomplishments of the Adult Probation Department of Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona during 1975.
Abstract
It discusses the activities of each component of the department, with attention to presentence investigations, field supervision, volunteer services, staff development, employment services, probation sentencing, the probation population, and probation terminations. The data indicate that the department's caseload increased 25 percent, thus causing average caseloads to rise from a 1974 average of 85 to a 1975 average of 105. With increased caseload sizes, field contacts then rose by 33 percent to a total of 37,559. The report further indicates that total restitution and reimbursement payments received rose from $94,367.82 in 1974 to $130,036 in 1975, a 37.8-percent increase. In response to these increased demands, the department's caseload responsbilities were expanded and a management information and statistics systems project was funded. Tabular and graphic data, an organizational chart, and a few photographs are included.
