The 1981 annual report of the Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation (MDRC) discusses its activities in demonstration programs designed to increase the long-term self-sufficiency of disadvantaged groups.
Abstract
Attention is given to the National Supported Work Demonstration, Youth Incentive Entitlement Pilot Projects, the Work Incentive Program's Research Laboratory Project, and Project Redirection, all of which are geared to helping people become self-supporting. MDRC also developed the Comprehensive Opportunities Project, designed to help school dropouts gain life-coping skills and to pass the high school equivalency exam. Financial statements are attached.
