Abstract
The first article discusses the relationship between staff and children in residential treatment; this type of treatment includes socialization and parenting as well as psychotherapy, and must therefore include elements of loving. Following articles include a survey of personal relationship problems of direct care staff with youngsters, particularly those who have been sexually abused; a survey of minor sex problems in this milieu; and a discussion of two studies on the problem of presenting sexually stimulating material. Two treatment programs are described in this volume, one for adolescent sexual offenders and one for female survivors of sexual abuse.
