This directory lists and describes community resources available to schools and community groups seeking to plan and conduct juvenile violence prevention programs in schools in New York State.
Abstract
The resources are grouped geographically in five regions in the State. A graphic for each service indicates whether it is free or if there is a charge for services. For each service, the name, address, telephone number, contact person, services, and focus are described. Services include skills training, consultation, resource materials, resource materials, and programs for specific target groups. Services include alternative dispute settlement, counseling, other psychological services, prevention and early intervention, childcare for children of adolescent parents enrolled in school, health education programs, routine health checkups, summer educational and recreational programs for children with special needs, residential services for adolescents unable to live at home, child abuse prevention, child welfare services, tutoring, support for survivors of violent crime, sexual assault prevention, crisis hotlines, and training programs.
