This manual presents the timetable, agenda, background information, class exercises, and instructor guidelines for a 4-day course in law-related education.
Abstract
The course aims to develop citizenship skills by helping participants understand that the rights guaranteed by law in a democratic society are accompanied by moral responsibilities that help ensure the continuation of that society. The course also aims to help participants make deliberate, thoughtful decisions concerning legal and moral consequences associated with alternative actions. Each day begins at 8:30 a.m., ends at 3 p.m., and focuses on a specific topic. Topics include (1) cultural diversity, (2) decision-making, (3) law and society, and (4) conflict and conflict resolution. The course begins with a half-hour orientation and a pretest questionnaire.
