THIS FILM STRIP AND CASSETTE FOCUSES ON THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF INDIVIDUALS VIS-A-VIS CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW AND ITS IMPACT ON PERSONAL, BUSINESS, AND CONSUMER CONCERNS.
Abstract
AIMED AT A TEENAGE AUDIENCE, THE MATERIAL ILLUSTRATES HOW THE LAW TOUCHES NEARLY EVERY ASPECT OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S DAILY LIFE. A YOUNG MECHANIC IS DEPICTED AS HE DISCOVERS THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS CONVEYED BY TRAFFIC, CREDIT, CONTRACT, AND CONSUMER LAWS. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS UNDER THE LAW IS EXAMINED, ALONG WITH CERTAIN RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS (E.G., RIGHT OF PRIVACY, PROPERTY RIGHTS) RELATING TO SUCH EVERYDAY CONCERNS AS DRIVING AN AUTOMOBILE, FOOD SERVICE, PROPERTY OWNERSHIP, AND MARRIAGE. ASSORTED LEGAL TERMS ARE DISCUSSED, INCLUDING NUISANCE, LEASE, LICENSE, CREDIT, TORT, AND CONTRACT. (KBL)
