AN INDEX TO LEGAL PERIODICAL LITERATURE CONCERNING YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR PROBLEMS WITH THE LAW, WITH SUPPLEMENTS ISSUED BI-ANNUALLY.
Abstract
KINDEX IS AN INDEX TO LEGAL PERIODICAL LITERATURE CONCERNING YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR PROBLEMS WITH THE LAW. DESIGNED TO EASE THE WORK OF LITERATURE RESEARCH, KINDEX HAS 203 CLASSIFICATIONS (140 SUBSTANTIVE, 63 GEOGRAPHIC) TO HELP TO DIRECT RESEARCH TO ISSUES AND AREAS OF INTEREST. EACH ENTRY IS CROSS-CLASSIFIED TO SHOW ITS LOCATION IN OTHER PARTS OF THE INDEX. (APPROXIMATELY 2,950 DISCRETE ENTRIES GLEANED FROM 286 FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC PERIODICALS COMPRISE ABOUT 10,000 TOTAL CROSS-CLASSIFIED ENTRIES.) AN ARTICLE ADDRESSING A BROAD ISSUE IN JUVENILE JUSTICE WOULD RECEIVE A MINIMUM OF CROSS-CLASSIFICATION, WHILE ONE THAT ADDRESSES A NARROWER, MORE SPECIALIZED TOPIC WOULD RECEIVE MAXIMUM CROSS-CLASSIFICATION TO AUGMENT ITS VISIBILITY. THE SUBSTANTIVE CLASSIFICATION CATEGORIES RANGE FROM ADMISSIBILITY OF EVIDENCE TO PARENS PATRIAE TO WAIVER OF RIGHTS. SOME OF THE CATEGORIES REFLECT LANDMARK JUDICIAL DECISIONS (I.E., MCKEIVER VERSUS PENNSYLVANIA, STANLEY VERSUS ILLINOIS, ETC.) WHILE OTHERS INDICATE PARTICULAR STATES OR FOREIGN COUNTRIES. SUPPLEMENTS TO KINDEX WILL BE ISSUED AT SIX-MONTH INTERVALS. THE PURCHASE PRICE MAY INCLUDE THE FIRST TWO SUPPLEMENTS, WHICH WILL BE CLASSIFIED UNDER AN EXPANDED NUMBER (240) OF CATEGORIES.
