This document contains the various subchapters of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act.
Abstract
The first subchapter contains general information on Congressional findings that resulted in passage of the act, defines relevant terms, and identifies purposes of the act. The second subchapter focuses on the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Office, Federal assistance to State and local programs, national programs and the National Institute for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, special emphasis prevention and treatment programs, gang-free schools and communities, community-based gang intervention, treatment of juvenile offenders who are victims of child abuse and neglect, mentoring, boot camps, and the National White House Conference on Juvenile Justice. The third subchapter deals with runaway and homeless youth, while the fourth subchapter concerns missing children. The fifth subchapter encompasses incentive grants for local juvenile delinquency prevention programs.
