The 1991 annual report of the Huron County Juvenile Court in Norwalk, Ohio reflects a 7-percent increase in the number of hearings and trials.
Abstract
During 1991, the court was involved in efforts to prevent and ameliorate cases of abuse, neglect, dependency, delinquency, and unruliness. The ROY Program, a big brother/big sister type program, continues to match volunteer mentors as role models for children at high risk. The guardian ad litem program continues to contribute to the protection of children and to the rehabilitation and reunification of troubled families. The Collaborative for the 90's, a community partnership for primary prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse, is beginning to function with a grant from the U.S. Office of Substance Abuse Prevention. Statistics are tabulated on sources of delinquent and unruly complaints docketed in the Huron County Juvenile Court for 1991, violations named on delinquent and unruly complaints, juvenile age and residence, and juvenile disposition. Data are also provided on sources of abused, dependent, and neglected complaints; traffic complaints; hearings and trials; funding disbursements for child care and detention; funding for court placements; and court operating expenses.
