This annual report of JUSTICE, the British Section of the International Commission of Jurists, covers several topics of key interest to the organization as well as activities from the previous year.
Abstract
The first section discusses human rights in the world, touching upon human rights law, activities of the Human Rights Monitoring group, and two human rights cases of note. Freedom of expression and the law, distribution on intestacy, and no- fault insurance are the subjects which comprise the section on civil justice. The criminal justice chapter covers the Guildford and Woolwich Inquiry; the group's Committees on Drugs, Criminal Justice, and Sentencing; and several significant cases. Other chapters discuss administrative law, legislation, and new committees. General organizational information is provided on membership, officers, branch activities, finances, and publications.
