Abstract
The Administrative Office of the Court reorganized and presented four management workshops for judges and court personnel. The Chief Justice's Special Committee on the Courts and the Media continued to monitor the experimental rules allowing television, radio, and still camera coverage of court proceedings. The Judicial Council prepared 39 statistical reports on the judgeship needs of courts seeking additional judgeships. The Court Management Services Unit provided technical assistance in court management to more than 50 justice, municipal, and superior courts. California courts reported a total of 21,825 cases placed on the arbitration hearing list, and the Administrative Office was advised of 30 felony and 4 misdemeanor cases in which a change of venue motion was granted in 1981.
