Abstract

In Jamie’s Story, readers learn techniques for helping to cope with strong feelings. Children and youth who have been victims and victim witnesses in sex trafficking cases can have a template for what to expect as they answer questions to help in police investigations as well as when they speak with prosecuting attorneys in preparation for court appearances and testimonies. Readers will also see how Jamie gets support from therapists, group home staff, and victim advocates. This resource also provides readers with access to support materials for child victims and witness support, focusing on criminal court and child welfare systems, which are available in a variety of languages.
