This volume contains nine studies and articles focusing on such topics as the relationship between personality and types of crime, schizophrenia and delinquency, and types of drivers prone to accidents.
Abstract
The papers include a study of the feasibility of predicting offense type form nondemographic data on offenders, a discussion of the five types of comparative criminology studies found in Israel, and a reaction to criticisms of the labeling theory. Other papers compare non-delinquent schizophrenics with deviant schizophrenics and apply a new personality theory to the subject of predisposition toward homosexuality. Additional papers analyze the personality parameters of recidivist driving offenders, and study the causes and possible cures for violence in the stands at soccer matches in England. The sexual mores of Arabs and the phenomenon of property criminals who profit by their wrongs while their victims suffer deprivation are also examined. All of the papers provide reference lists; most of them provide data tables and graphs. Biographical notes on the authors are also provided.
