This fact sheet presents an international list of several countries and their military contributions to the global war against terrorism.
Abstract
After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the United States began building a coalition involving several countries to support a global war on terrorism and create a broad-based effort. To date, there are 69 nations supporting this war with 20 nations having deployed over 16,000 troops to the U.S. Central Command’s region of responsibility. This paper provides a partial list of military contributions to the war on terrorism from some of the countries that have given their support to fight this worldwide effort. The list includes the countries of Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan.
