This index to State policy reports in LEGISNET contains bibliographic information and abstracts of State legislative research and program evaluation reports, National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) publications, and selected publications of other government and public policy organizations.
Abstract
LEGISNET is NCSL's 50-State on-line information system. States are encouraged to submit their research and program evaluation reports to NCSL on a regular basis for inclusion in the data base and the index. The index is intended for use by State legislators and staff and should also be of interest to State and local governments, libraries, public affairs offices, public and private sector associations, Federal agencies, public interest groups, and anyone interested in researching State policy topics. LEGISNET encompasses such topics as banks and banking, children and families, consumer issues, criminal justice and law enforcement, drug and alcohol abuse, economic affairs, education, the elderly, emergency and disaster preparedness and assistance, employment and labor, energy and the environment, fiscal affairs and taxes, health care, housing, human and civil rights, information systems and services, insurance, land use, legislative and political issues, social services, telecommunications, and transportation. Appendixes contain a source index and a list of organizational authors.
