This study evaluates the impact of Independent Living Programs in nine Pennsylvania counties by identifying the services available to prepare adolescents in placement for independent living, assesses the effects of these services by comparing youth who have and have not received them, and determines the relationship between the types of services offered and their effect on adaptation to independence.
Abstract
The study employs a systems model that evaluates program components including inputs, activities, results, outcomes, and feedback. The data were collected through interviews conducted at nine chosen sites. An information/data matrix was developed for each of eight topic areas: identification and background of interviewees, program funding and spending, program context and environment, program planning and design, program development implementation, program administration and management, program after services and support, and program expectations and recommendations. 4 appendixes
